<\/p>The AAHC Sullivan Alliance aims to strengthen the capacity and quality of the nation\u2019s health workforce by increasing the numbers of ethnic and racial minorities in every area of healthcare and across all aspects of academic health centers.<\/strong>\n

\u201c<\/em><\/strong><\/b>The Sullivan Alliance to Transform the Health Professions was formed in 2005 to develop and promote programs to increase racial, ethnic and gender diversity in the health professions.<\/em><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

We were pleased to join efforts with The Association for Academic Health Centers (AAHC) in 2020 to expand the Alliance\u2019s activities.\u00a0 And in 2022 we were excited when the AAHC merged into the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), providing further momentum to The Sullivan Alliance.<\/em><\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

Sullivan Lecturers Receive Distinctive Medallion and Praise for Their Health Equity Leadership<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>WASHINGTON, April 12, 2023 \u2013 The Alliance of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) is pleased to announce that three Sullivan Alliance Awardees were recognized at the 2023 AAHCI Global Innovation Forum (GIF), held April 12-13 in Washington, DC, for their dedication and significant contributions to increasing diversity and equity in the healthcare professions to improve community and population health.<\/p>\n

The Sullivan Alliance aims to strengthen the capacity and quality of the nation\u2019s health workforce by increasing the numbers of ethnic and racial minorities in every area of healthcare and across all aspects of academic health centers. Awardees delivered the Annual Sullivan Lecture. Recipients honored at the GIF are:<\/p>\n

Established in 2020 by the Association of Academic Health Centers and the Sullivan Alliance, the award has since been named an AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges) presidential award<\/a> <\/span>beginning in 2023.<\/p>\n
AAHCI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the AAMC and comprises an international constituency.<\/p>\n

The AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges) is a nonprofit association dedicated to improving the health of people everywhere through medical education, health care, medical research, and community collaborations. Its members are all 157 U.S. medical schools accredited by the\u00a0 Liaison Committee on Medical Education<\/a>;<\/span> 13 accredited Canadian medical schools; approximately 400 teaching hospitals and health systems, including Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers; and more than 70 academic societies.
